How to File an Auto Service Contract Claim

Have a problem with your vehicle? Start by taking your vehicle to a licensed repair shop or dealership for a diagnostic.

The repair facility will determine what is causing the problem and then contact the Claims department at 833-769-0003 to begin the claim.

1

Step 1: Take Your Vehicle to a Licensed Repair Facility

Take your vehicle to a licensed repair shop or dealership for a diagnostic.

The shop will inspect your vehicle and determine what is causing the problem.

2

Step 2: The Repair Facility Contacts Claims

Once the shop has diagnosed the issue, the repair facility contacts the Claims department to start the claim.

The Claims department reviews the repair and determines whether the requested work is covered under your Vehicle Service Contract.

3

Step 3: Get Claim Approval Before Repairs Begin

All Auto claims must receive pre-approval from the Claims department before any covered repair work is performed.

This is an important part of the process. Do not authorize covered repair work before the claim has been reviewed and approved.

Your repair facility works with the Claims department to complete the approval process.

4

Step 4: Complete the Covered Repair

Once the claim has been approved, the repair can move forward according to the terms of your Vehicle Service Contract.

When the work is completed, the Claims department pays the repair shop over the phone for the covered repair.

How to File a Home Service Contract Claim

The process is different for a Home Service Contract.

Instead of finding a service provider yourself, you contact the Claims department to report the problem. The Claims department then contacts a Service Provider in your area to perform a diagnostic.

1

Step 1: Contact Claims to Report the Problem

When a covered home system or appliance stops working, contact the Claims department at 833-769-0003 to report the issue.

Be prepared to provide information about the problem and the covered item that needs service.

2

Step 2: A Service Provider Is Assigned

The Claims department contacts a Service Provider in your area to handle the service call.

The Service Provider will then contact you to schedule a diagnostic appointment.

3

Step 3: Schedule Your Service Call

The Service Provider contacts you to arrange a time for the service call.

You should expect the Service Provider to reach out within 24-48 hours to set up the appointment.

4

Step 4: The Service Provider Diagnoses the Problem

During the service call, the Service Provider determines the cause of the failure.

Once the cause of the failure has been identified, the Service Provider contacts the Claims department for approval.

5

Step 5: The Repair or Replacement Is Determined

After the Claims department reviews the diagnosis, it will be determined whether the unit should be repaired or replaced, depending on the situation and the terms of your Home Service Contract.

What Should I Do Before Filing a Claim?

The best time to understand your service contract is before something breaks.

When you need to file a claim, it helps to have your contract information available and know which type of protection you have.

For Auto Claims

  • Take your vehicle to a licensed repair shop or dealership.
  • Have the vehicle diagnosed.
  • Make sure the repair facility contacts Claims.
  • Do not have covered repair work performed before receiving claim approval.

For Home Claims

  • Contact the Claims department to report the problem.
  • Wait for the assigned Service Provider to contact you.
  • Be available to schedule the service call.
  • Allow the Service Provider to diagnose the issue and work with Claims on approval.

What Happens After I File a Claim?

Filing a claim starts a process designed to determine what happened, whether the issue is covered and what happens next.

For Auto claims, the repair facility handles the diagnostic and works directly with Claims for approval. For Home claims, Claims coordinates with a Service Provider in your area, who diagnoses the problem and communicates with Claims.

The exact repair, replacement and coverage decisions depend on your individual service contract and its applicable terms, conditions, exclusions and limitations.

That’s why Fenix Protect believes in keeping the process straightforward. You should know what to expect when you need to use your protection.
